actually i use Drdepth for mapping, i've have a regulare licence for it, but,
as you know, it stopped evolution.
I'm really impressed in Reefmaster, it seems to be really fantastic !
But i've a great problem an external hard disk crashed and with it most of my .slg files
now i have just last few .slg files but all .drd files and lowrance map .lcm file generated with Mapedit.
The question is: have i something good for reefmaster ? can it read .drd files or .lcm ?
plese help me in starting this game !!

Hello Andrea and welcome ;)

If you have your *.drd files and a still running version of DrDepth, you only need a few clicks.

Start DrDepth, File - export (select Text/csv) - 'Return' and select all your files you want to convert.
Reefmaster can import these *.csv files and you are ready to go!

If you have no working version of drdepth, you can contact me via PN or email ... there should be a way ;)

Your other question: There is no way to decode lcm files.

I have just read an old posting: It would be best, to export your drd-files in separate steps for different areas, for example each lake separate, each year separate ...

Handling will be easyer, when you do your imports in RM.

And make a safe copy of these csv's ;)
They only will need a little space. You can additional zip these files.

I friend told me about RM this morning for the first time,
i've not trial version yet, but i think i'll buy license pro in in few hours :)
this may be a problem for you and all my RM forum new friends ahahahaha
i may need an owner's manual in Italian ... is it possible as you know ?

Been a lurker here for a while. I'm in the same boat figuratively speaking as I have a pretty extensive .drd file set including a very detailed shoreline/basemap including dozens of islands of my favorite lake. Can reefmaster utilize the shoreline files to produce an .at5 export format chart? looks like reefmaster is in my future.
One last question. I'm using Lowrance Gen 1 HDS on board with .lcm format charts. Can these devices read .at5 format? Thanks and greetings from Iowa USA.

Yes - Gen1 is no a problem for RM. LCM is an earlier AT5 file format. The Gen1 can read AT5 up to v12. There is not a great significant difference between Gen2 und Gen1 in chart options.

They key difference between DD and RM shorelines is that (I think) DD excludes values on a given side of the line, whereas RM always expects closed polygons for both shorelines and islands. RM will then exclude either everything outside of the polygon (shoreline) or everything within the polygon (island). This might mean that you have to do a bit of surgery on shorelines if you have an open-ended body of water. RM only allows a single shoreline per map (and any number of islands). If your existing shoreline is composed of multiple segments, then these need to be joined up to form a single, closed polygon, before they can be used in RM. RM doesn't have an editing function that can make these joins so it will need to be done elsewhere and the shoreline imported as a GPX or Shapefile.

Jörg and Matt were faster with some answers, I have just realized ;)

lcm is just an old type of at5 maps. All HDS units can handle at5, better than they can handle lcm ;)

For your shore lines and islands:
You can convert these with DRD to closed loops - polygon, export it as csv files.
Next you can import these csvs with reefmaster. You have to be careful, that you have the correct rows for latitude and longitude marked. This you could change, if necessary.
You also have to disable 'do not import zero depth' option. Otherwise you will get no points imported.

Next step is to export / save each of these files as gpx files. These gpx you can use im RM as shorelines. You have to switch from standard 'island' to shore or leave it as islands, depending on what is right.

Select 'closed loop' and you are done.

Also, it is possible to use any track imported into RM as a shoreline: use the option "add to project as boundary" which is available in the right-click menu for the track in the asset library. This way you don't need to go through the extra step of exporting as GPX and reimporting.

I think that LCM itself is actually an older AT5 format. I don't know of any units in common use now that are not able to support at least AT5 version 10, although not all units support all AT5 features. Unfortunately there is no way to take information out of an existing LCM file and use that in RM.
