What is the best way to do it ?

I'm trying with Trevor method with GpsMapEdit, but nothing is working.

With GPSMapEdit, I've made my object, for exemple, a Swamp, set the correct attributes, and build it with IMC with the rest of the shapefiles from ReefMastrer. Map displayed, but not the Swamp.

I tried too with Navico tool, ShapeToAt5, but again, nothing. Nothing is generated. (Even the Reefmaster Shapefile, not modified by me, nothing is generated with this tool)...

I tried to set the attributes regarding Navico documentation, but there is nothing to do.

First I was looking to edit Shapefiles with GlobalMapper, add swamp area, but it's not working... (I think I dont have all the attributes that I need. Something is missing in the Navico doc)...

So, What are your step to do it ? IMC ? ShapeToAt5 ?

And BTW, if someone could help me getting started with ShapeToAt5 tool, it could be very interresting. Like I said in other topic, I can't find any complete documentation for these tools...

My workflow:
RM, export shapes -> GpsMapEdit, add objects, export shapes -> IMC, creating at5 -> device.
Additional tolls are not required. The only thing you need to do: customize GpsMapEdit export script to set proper attributes in shapefiles.
All works fine, including swamps.

You shouldnt need to do much customizing of the script Let me know what extras you need ?

I finally get it working. I had too much attributes I think. I restarted the process with GpsMapEdit and now I can see my Navico Swamp.

But I would like to know more about the process... How to customize the export script to set the attributes ?

Btw, I can now see my Swamp, but this is transparent. I want my swamp over blank in my reefmaster map... (Swamp is generally where I don'T go with my boat, so there is no bathymetric data)... How to do it ?

And another question, for exemple, how I can add this objetc from Navico (AT5 Style Guide):

Sub Type: BOTTOM VEGETATION
Symbolization Field and Value: CompType=2
Feature Tag: pBottomComposition_2
Symbol Sample:

???

I just tried with a Raster too, and Swamp is under, we can't see it at all ? Anyone got an idea ?

Fred - send me your MP file please ? I'll have a look because something is not being done correctly. I have a feeling the problem lies somewhere between the keyboard and the chair.

Yes, I know that the problem is me ! Not easy when documentation is not in your primary language...

Nothing is clear in the docs. They don't tell exactly attribute syntaxe and value that they should be set ! For exemple, the Feature tag, some place, they write it FeatTag, and other places, Feature Tag... Which one is good ? And I never see this value in a shapefile... But they told that they need it !? And is it possible that the FeatTag to be in conflict with the Type set with GPSMapEdit ?

There are many thing that I don't understrand yet... And it's not with the documentation that I'll will understand !

Any hint ?

Fred - the bottom composition icon is in your icon library in IMC is it ? It's not in mine. You need to specify an Icon that actually exists. It works better.
