Fjordfisher explained - maybe in a german forum - some time ago. He edited his palette manually the way, that he exported a little palette from RM and expanded with an editor.

For deeper water, I use a palette, that coves e.g. the depth from 0 - 70 meters and set in RM the depth to be covered to this range. My colors go from pink for 1 meter, then some red, orange, yellow, green, light blue to dark blue. Deeper areas, no matter how deep, stay white.

The other way is to edit the palette manually and ad as much lines, as required with an increment of eg 1 meter. The shallow areas get one color per meter / line. Deeper areas get the same color for two ... five ... 10 meters / lines.

When I am at home, I could share such a table as a textfile.

Yes it's the best way.

With the 255 IMC colors it is hard to create a longer color palette with logical color sequence. I self use color palettes with up to 30 color but my favorites are 21 and 24 colors.




It is sure possible to include 40 colors, but there is a border with visible differences, but even then if we have AT5 v13 (any hexadecimal colors), the color differences make it necessary to summarize depth areas for deeper waters.

e. g. this any sample with 19 colors for 40 m depth

Each user can adapt such sample for his purpose. But for open sea (norway etc.), i recommend/use the scheme from Trevor for better overviev.

Yes, I know it`s for the HDS. ;-)
I`m quite busy right know to get some good custom palettes for my HDS gen1. But the problem is that the colors on my monitor look different on my HDS. So it`s hard to find some good matching colors. Hopefully this will help a bit.

Hey, guys, when i open the globel settings, and then the palette editor, how do i choose a AT5 that have more then 12 colors ? no matter what i tried, i can only choose 12 colors.

Save the palette locally on your PC, open the saved file in notepad, and edit with more colours. Then reimport to RM.
