I like how the layers works now and the clip image feature works really nice too. My existing data seemed to import perfectly. Scrolling large maps and rotating in 3D definitely works a lot smoother and faster. The Live Data functions look like they'll be a lot easier to use now too.

I should probably sit down and actually read the directions before I start my new project but I didn't have too of hard a time figuring out how to make it work with existing projects. So far so good .......

I haven't used 2.0 yet, but I would have paid WAY more than what you are asking for to go from V1.89 to 2.0. A $50 upgrade cost is ridiculously good value I suspect (based on new features and refinements to old)....I can't see any current Reefmaster user not upgrading.

When I made the move from Dr. Depth after Humminbird bought it out (and turned it into Autochart, where the software has largely stagnated since), I was really annoyed at the Dr. Depth situation, and kind of neutral with regards to Reefmaster. The interface was different, databases were structured differently....then I got to understand the subtle differences....even at that time I made the switch, Reefmaster's capabilities were far beyond Dr. Depth. And while AutoChart remains essentially what it was when Humminbird purchased it, Reefmaster has since grown by leaps and bounds....it is a fisherman's, cartographer's, and biologist's dream what this software is capable of. Yes, you need to invest considerable time in relation to data collection and post-processing to generate a good map (even excellent software is no replacement for good data)....but for those of us obsessed with perfection, the tools reefmaster provides are just so damn good...

Have you seen what they are charging for the PC software when the results only work with a special overpriced sd card on a single brand of finders. They should be giving that thing away like IMC or at the most charging $30 for it like Insight Planner. The only changes to the Dr Depth part seems to be to the interface which looks like Win 7 Aero sidebars tacked over the old WinXP era GUI design. The drapes don't match the rugs and it doesn't look like they did a whole lot of work to it other than crippling it so it can't be used with anything else.

Why are all these effects, styles, etc? Excess load on the PC!
The calculation of the project is three times longer than that of Globalmapper, hypack! By what algorithm is the calculation of triangulation? At the output of some kind of nonsense!
Offsets need not only GPS but also a sounder.
So there is no normal editor of measurements in the form of a graph.
There is no function for adding depth marks and selecting depths. (About three years ago they asked for it)
No account of bathymetry in SL3 from LSS3D
There is no rial time construction of bathymetry!
Disappointment!

The triangulation engine hasn't changed in RM2. What is the nonsense you are seeing? Can you provide examples? (please start a thread in the support forum for this).

Also more info required - I am not sure what you are saving here.

Spot depths have been added as a new feature to map projects, and depths can be corrected over the sonar viewer as before.
What other sort of depth selection are you looking for?
No account of bathymetry in SL3 from LSS3D

We don't have permission from Navico to do this - we will add it if we get it at some point int he future. RM2 does support SL3 files for 2D bathymetry and sidescan/sonar.
There is no rial time construction of bathymetry!
Disappointment!

It is still possible to produce maps in real time using NMEA data.

Everything is really FANTASTIC ,
Thank you Matt !!

I'm in trial and i'm not able at the moment to open RM1 to make a comparison in export map settings.
And if i have new logs during trial i won't be able to use RM1 to generate ?

Nothing you do in an upgraded RM2 database will be reflected in your existing RM1 database, so you would need to add those logs to your old workspace as well if you want them there. The RM2 database migration is a one-time snapshot, copy and upgrade of an existing RM1 workspace.

Well I think if you want to test RM2 Test me the dummy ( No experiment with mapping at all only with RM1 I was creating small maps (100m) and logging ok the past year ).
1 updated RM1 Easy to do
2 Downloaded RM2 Easy to do
3 Cant find out how to get manual F1 ?
4 Notice sometimes creating map is slow, but not when creating from new ?I deleted the map and would start over it and it work OK ?
5 Can't seem to create map now (did once ?) notice couldn't change colors on map
6 Got as far as down loading assets, but got loss
7 But I like the changing water levels after all I am just using it for fishing and Thanks for the people helping me
Not sure if I should try this on my Tablet yet RM1 works find
Will keep trying The most part of this is finding out how to get the help manual

For the manual, press the F1 function key or click the ? button in the top right of the main window (near the close button).

I think it might be a good idea to add a help menu item to the File menu, since you are not the first person to have difficulty in opening the manual!

Not sure what is happening with your other issues, but if you start a new thread in the support section we can take a look (screen shots help, if you can).

Edit: just to correct this, but Help is already a part of the File menu :)
