When I'm on the water and create a waypoint, it gets stamped with the current date and time. That time stamp comes in to RM on import. When I create new waypoints in Sonar Viewer, I'm marking objects in a Sonar Log file that I'm reviewing. I want the new waypoints to have the date and time from the log file, not today's date and time, which is the default. It's cumbersome to change the default date because a) you have to use the TAB key, making it a two handed operation, and b) you have to do this for every new waypoint because RM always defaults to the current date for each new waypoint.
A couple of ways to make this work would be:
1) Have a check box in the New Waypoint dialog to "Use Date and Time from log file" (File Creation Date and Lowrance-computed time)
2) Default to date and time of the most recently saved waypoint (instead of default to 'date and time NOW') so I only have to override once per Sonar Log file..
As far as the TABs during date entry, it would be helpful to just advance to the next (sub-) field as digits are entered (or allow entry of dashes or periods to advance to the next part of a date or time).
I'm new to RM so maybe I just don't understand how the current date and time are useful for waypoints created off the water.
