I have an Elite 5 dsi Lowrance unit . I have tried several different export types and none will work in this unit. Fishing Hot Spots Pro USA and LakeMaster in the U.S., and Navionics Gold worldwide are all listed as being compatible chip cards. Is it not possible to export a map to this unit?

What map types have you tried and what results do you get?
I am not sure which Atlas version that unit supports - perhaps someone on here has a better idea? You should certainly be able to get RM maps to display on it - I have no trouble on my Elite 4 DSI using the standard vector export formats.

I tried the most basic at5 vector map with only 4 colors and without generating minor contour levels. Are you sure you have an elite dsi unit or an elite hdi unit? I called lowrance and talked to the tech support and they helped what they could given I am using a outside source map chip. He thought that unit used somewhere between version 7 and 11 at5 file. I hope we can work this out. Thanks for all the help.

My bad - it is an HDI.
If the DSI is an older model it is possible that it requires an older AT5 map format. This limits your ReefMaster export formats somewhat, as preset map styles are always exported as AT5 version 12. You can select AT5 version 10 if exporting in the AT5 format via "write to file" in either the project or user map views. If you need an earlier version you would need to export from RM in Shapefile format and run the IMC manually after setting the required version.
I'll see if I can find out which version your unit supports.

And Matt, beeing able to choose a lower Atlas then 10 when exporting from a User Map would be handy. ;)

I read a blog talking about hds gen 1 and they mentioned Elite 5 would read a at5 version 10 file. So as previosly mentioned I exported to file and selected at5 version 10 and now I have a Reefmaster map on my Elite 5 dsi. Thanks for all the help. Any suggestions on getting the best map details exported? There are a few settings I am not familar with when exporting this way. Thanks again for all your help.

I have previously tried this on Elite 5 (same as DSI, but with 2D-sonar instead of downscan). I belive I had to go down to Atlas 7 on that model, but I guess you proved me wrong. :)
