Several of my RM maps consist of very dense xyz data, But these data are getting older and because of this, less accurate.
So we have recorded several sonarlogs on spots that have changed depth.
Unfortunately, these sonarlogs seem to influence the newly calculated maps verly little (or seemingly not at all).
One could think of deleting the old datapoints, but that is practically very difficult to do
How would you handle such a situation?.

I have the same question/problem (e. g. excavations, alluvion, hydraulic engineering). A spatial (and/or temporal) selection in RM wouldbe helpful.

This is one of the problem areas as you can see.

I had asked matt if he could give us a filter by DATE option he said would look into it on a subsequent release...

A possibility would be also:
export of all project datas (track points with depth information) >>> using selection tools in other GIS applications (e. g. spatial selection, selection by date, ...) >>> reimport of selected datas into RM as new project.

A creation of a manual for selection methods in other GIS applications for now would be simpler as a tool set in RM.

It is already possible to delete points within an area using the region select tool and delete option - this can also be done within the track view of a project, so that points from multiple tracks can be deleted at the same time. Of course, you are limited to a rectangle here and it is "all or nothing". We will take these ideas on board and improve things at some stage, with some sort of temporal filter and perhaps a combination of different filters. The idea at the moment is that you would be able to select a range of track-points (via existing region select) and then apply filters to just the selected range (e.g. depth max/min, perhaps time), then delete points based on the final selection. This will be a lot more flexible than the current arrangement.
