I spent some time searching for a way to export wayoints as shapefiles / include them in the exported fileset, so that Insight Map Creator could use it and embed these points in the created at5 vectormap.

Is there any way to do this with Reefmaster or do I have to create an extra shapefile.

Hubert,
Currently not - USR or GPX is the way to go to get them into your Lowrance.
We are planning on exporting points to shapefiles, and setting attributes that correspond to the IMC icon set, but it was too much work for the last release. I can't give you an accurate estimate of when we will release this update, though.
