I have made a map project named BaseAt4OsmProject. I inserted a shoreline gpx in
order to have something to set the view area.

I want to create an AT5 chart with this style.

Preset Map Styles - AT5 Vector Map with Open Street Map Data

I'm looking at the edit window for this project and don't
understand how to generate the AT5 output.

I was able to make a user map with the shoreline gpx and create the at5 output, but
did not see how to use a preset map style and the at5 output appears to have only
the gpx shoreline path.

Including OSM data is only available as a "preset map style" when exporting projects - not user maps (this distinction between UMs and projects will go in a future release, but for the moment it remains).

In any case exporting a map with OSM data takes a very long time, due to the processing required in the IMC, so I would suggest a different approach:

1. Create your OSM map directly in the IMC - this is easy, as all you have to do is add the .pbf file and process in vector mode. Choose "project based naming" and give your IMC project a name, so that the generated AT5 files have the project name (instead of large/medium/small.at5). Put the OSM map files on your unit memory card.

2. Now just export vector maps from RM without OSM data and add them to the card also (you can change the .at5 file names if you need to avoid a clash, so long as you keep the extensions).

Now when the unit loads maps from the card, it will load both the OSM map and the RM map(s), and you should see your RM map on top. You can also export from either a user map or a project and get the same results.

Doing it this way means that you only need to generate the OSM map once, but of course the process is a little more involved.

Note that you can't combine raster maps (shaded relief or sidescan mosaic, for example) with an OSM vector map.
