I have a Humminbird 597 ci HD DI with a 2 GB Navionics SD card with alot of free space. I read everywhere that sonar logs can not be stored on the Navionics SD card, it would destroy the file structure. Eg the lock switch on the card shall be kept on.

However when using the Navionics fresh data program to update the maps the program searchthe SD card for Sonor logs packets to upload to Navionics. This makes me confused. Is it possible to store sonor logs or not to the Navioncs SD card.

Manual says not to do it on the c-map max-n charts (ie use the sd card for the c-map data only).... A bit tricky to follow this advice with only 1 sd card slot if you want to record data :-) . Anyway, I do it all the time and have never had a problem.
