I am using the reefmaster export to Raster AT5 for a single 500m sidescan.

When i put my card in the HDS i can only see the image if i go to Chart - View - Photo Overlay.

I was expecting a raster layer in the Shaded Relief option to select,

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks in advance

Hi Skinnee,
I don't actually know the answer to this, as we are not testing on a Gen3 yet. Certainly on the older units all raster images were viewed under "shaded relief" on the unit. I don't know of any reason why the SS mosaic would be shown differently to the shaded relief background areas (are they?) as they are exported in the same way from ReefMaster. As for multiple raster layers - this was not possible on older units but there may be a way to do this on the newer ones. Hopefully someone else can chime in with some more information.

Hi Matt,

From tackle fever forum it appears you will need update reefmaster so IMC outputs using shaded relief option (apologies if that's something I need to change in IMC), let me know cheers

On the newest software:

If the Raster Image is classified as "Satellite Imagery", it is turned on using the Photo Overlay option.
If the Raster Image is classified as anything else, it is turned on using the Shaded Relief option.

Setting raster options to "shaded relief imagery" should solve this problem then.

Just an update - working with Matt behind the scenes

I can export a PNG mosaic from RM and manually create a shaded relief raster with IMC.

The AT5 export in RM currently doesn't work due to the default satellite imagery setting in IMC by the looks.

We've got a fix for this now, and will do a maintenance release shortly. The SR parameter to the IMC was not being picked up correctly. The question is what should SS mosaic be treated as? The possibilities I can see for this are satellite imagery, shaded relief or topographic raster.

Thanks Matt - can you have a checkbox to keep everyone happy for the options listed?

I'm sure everyone will have different thoughts on this one, if I was fishing in a river I might want to use a satellite image but out on the blue water there would be no point. Conversely I could foresee someone having access to a topographic raster which may be useful to them in a lake or a bay. A shaded relief is probably one that we all would like to use often so that is probably not a great choice either even though it is effectively a shaded relief.

For these reasons I think providing a drop down menu option to let the user decide which to use based on the information available in their map would bea great approach.
