Matt, been a while. I downloaded sonar viwer and when I try to open a data file the program stops responding when the bar gets about halfway across. I did reboot the pc before the last try.

What type of file, and what size are you trying to load?

The card is an Intel(R) hd 4000. The file i'm trying to upload is a DAT file. I am abl et upload it into my origina Reefmaster app.

For whatever reason the program won't open files on my memory card. By transferring them to the PC it works.
Would I be correct in saying that in order to get a true picture using sonar view the track must be straight?

That's interesting - all of our tests with SD card readers have been fine, although performance is generally somewhat slower than using a standard hard disk (or, even better, an SSD).
Straight tracks do give the best results, but the image is warped to take account of turns. Results on turns are much better if you have recorded your track with heading information, otherwise we have to use the course to determine the direction of the sonar. Course and heading can be quite different, particularly during tight turns, as the boat "slides" round the corner.
