I have just come across this product and it looks fantastic. Not however completely clear what gear i need to make full use of it.

Firstly, am i correct in thinking a standard Lowrance or Hummingbird logfile can be exported to generate contour maps?
Secondly, to export and mozaic 3d views from a plotter i need one of the above makes that generates structure maps?

i would be keen to have some examples of lower cost fishfinder models that are ideal for all this as I have a Garmin 750s which i presume could be heading for the bin

If you are most interested in sidescan mosaics, then you will need either a Humminbird SI model or a Lowrance with structurescan - although we are currently working on support for Garmin SideVu also.

Both the HB and Lowrance are good choices and you will get good results with either. As far as data quality is concerned, the larger (more expensive) units don't record better data than smaller ones, so the lower-end models are fine. All of our demo data, for example, was recording on a Humminbird 598 which is one of their cheapest sidescan models.

Yes, sorry - I did miss your post. We are still working on Garmin compatibility - it is taking a bit longer than we hoped but with luck we will have something by the end of the year.

Sorry, I missed your earlier question.
The schedule is "as soon as possible", but there are a number of outstanding issues. This year is probably about as good as I can say, and even then it depends on whether we can iron out the last of the format issues.
