Hi Matt.

I am still having a hard time getting a colored at5 shaded relief map to display once exported to a card and placed in my HDS units. I kept trying all day and was unsucessful. Got the 2D Vector Map with Colored Depth Areas to work but that was the only one. I really would like the shaded reliefs to work. When I try to export to ANY other pre-set style, all I get is contour lines on a yellowish/pink background. I have attached pictures of my HDS display as well as the PC screenshot.

I tried setting HDS to show "shaded relief" it doesn't change.....tried 2d and 3d settings and still no luck. The map looks so nice on pc, I want it on the lake:)

I do not have Elites. Both are HDS gen 2 units.

Map settings in RM are set to "Vector" if that matters, I thought I'd try selecting "Raster" but that didn't change results when exported.

I also tried using my laptop yesterday to export these maps from my projects. When I place the card in the HDS-10 or HDS-5, they still appear like the attached photo shows. These were exported as an AT5 map with color band shaded relief and depth highlight layer. I also attached a photo of what is shown on computer before exporting.

If I export to a 2D Vector map with colored depth areas and try them in either HDS unit, it works fine.
When I try to export to ANYTHING else, either HDS screen looks like attached photo......I am certain it is a simple thing, I am following the "Start To Finish Guide" to the letter. I am unsure what to try next.

We are leaving for holiday to these lakes in a few weeks and need mapping to work while there.
Please let me know what I can do.

I am wondering if it could be related to the issue raised in this thread. The simple way to test would be to zoom out and see if the raster appears.

I have seen this a couple of times when using the "highlight depth" feature. It seems something goes wrong in IMC, leaving the whole map with the highlight-colour? Both times it happened, I generated a new map with IMC and the new version was ok. (I have HDS Gen 1, HDS Gen 2 and Simrad NSS Evo 2.) This is one of the reasons I always check that the map works before I go fishing. :)

That's a good point - and that pink colour could well be the depth-highlight, if you have selected this option.
One thing to be aware of is that the depth-highlight is (has to be) shown on top of the background raster. This means that you may need to de-select the "Depth Highlight" chart category so that it is hidden - you then select just the depth-range you want to see, using the depth-specific sub-categories. Also note that since the depth-highlight is a vector-over-raster, it is important to make sure that the at5.xml file is copied along with the large.at5 file, and that the at5.xml is the correct one - i.e. the one that was generated at the same time as large.at5.

Well I have played with some settings on the HDS.
I have taken photos of the screen with HDS settings listed. Still no luck getting ANY shaded relief to show.....really want this.

1) 2/D or Shaded Relief View, no change.
(Area) Depth Area-All On
(Area) Depth Highlight-Off or On, no change
(Line) Nautical Countours-On
(Point) Nautical-On

Sorry - missed the update to this thread!

It's a curious one - it looks to me like you have vector areas, so these are likely obscuring any shaded relief you have and this could be the issue.
What you could try, which might help get to the bottom of this, is to change your project to raster mode, so you don't have any isobaths at all (just contours). Then export this as Shaded relief via a preset style onto a new/empty memory card, just to eliminate the possibility that there is another at5 map somewhere on the card that is also showing.
You should then end up with a map that has only contours and shaded relief, with no possibility of anything obscuring it. Even if this isn't exactly how you want your finished map, it should still be a useful diagnostic exercise.
