Ok. I've looked thru the programs "Help/Tutorials" and I just can't figure out how to add a shoreline, either manually or with the Google Earth thing. The tutorial says to import a shoreline that was created in google earth but doesn't tell you how to create it. The tutorial also gives the option of tracing a shoreline directly in ReefMaster but doesn't tell you how to do that.

Isn't there a step by step, basic map creation tutorial I can get to guide me thru making a good "basic" map for my Lowrance?

Any help would be appreciated before I give this up. Thanks.

Have you tried following the step by step tutorial in the manual, which is also available online here.
Also take a look at this video, which follows most of the tutorial steps - although more at a demonstration that tutorial speed.
