Is it possible to open a project without the map being regenerated?

I am trying to make some fairly large maps and anytime I start Reef Master and open the project to make changes it attempts to regenerate the map which takes a long time.

At the moment, no, but changes are planned in that area.

DB, i have the same problem. what i do is shrink the map boundary down until i am ready to run the map.
