The issue here is that the waypoints are not exported with a map project or a user map. The only way to export waypoints and a map at the same time is to export via a
Data Set which includes both a user map and waypoint set(s) - although this would mean you couldn't use a preset style, such as the shaded relief one that you emailed.
For Google Earth on PC this doesn't matter so much, as you can export the waypoints and map separately and simply load both into GE. It is an issue for mobile, because only one file can be opened at a time.
There is an easy workaround though: export the waypoints and the map separately, combine them together in Google Earth and re-save as a single KMZ file:
First, export your map in KMZ format - you can do this any way you like, using preset styles etc. Export your waypoints in KMZ format also, then:
1. Open both files in Google Earth.
2. Drag the waypoints.kmz into the top level of the map.kmz.
3. Right-click the map.kmz and "Save place as" - choose a KMZ filename.
