Hello, o am new to the Reefmaster family. i have a question about the At5s that are generated out of reefmaster.

on the standard insight map there is navigational data that displays, pilings, channel markers, platforms, etc. I created some Google Earth sat maps using SAS planet and the nav aids are displayed. when i generate a Reefmaster map, thsese aids do not display.

my question is, is there a way to generate Reefmaster map where these navaids are visible?

Hi,
Sorry - missed this one.
A ReefMaster map will show just what is contained within that map - there is no real concept of sharing data between maps in the way that you describe. When you say that you created a map using SAS planet, how did this display the nav data? Was this just a background raster with the existing vector features showing over the top?

A screen-shot would be good.

No Worries Matt, Below are the pictures, 1st is Insight base map that the unit contains,

2nd is the Map through SAS planet,

3rd is the SAS map and reefmaster map.

I am new to this i believe SAS is just a raster layer and the Nav Aids shows through. SAS outputs into a KML then IMC processes from KML to a Bound AT5 folder with a bunch of files.

to simplify things I ran the reefmaster map only. with reefmaster only i get the same result. I tried running with the AT5 raster layer and looked at the configuration in IMC and the only difference i can see is the input file is vector output is raster.

Could this be possibly a transparency issue? Any help will be appreciated.

Is this what you are trying to do ? I have difficulty understanding exactly what you are doing. I would suggest you include a screenshot of the complete file structure of your SD card - this could simply be a question of having the xml file in the wrong place.

You have a good point about the files being in the wrong spot, Below is the screenshot.

Yes, your screenshot looks like the data i am trying to display.

The structure recommended is to have your Raster overlays in a folder called "ShadedRelief" under the root of the SD card. The xml file in the root, and the Vector charts in a folder with any particular name under the root. You'll find a bit of guidance in the IMC manual. Once you have the recommended folder structure you may want to try again. I only use the recommended structure, and have never had any problems.

Thanks for the assistance AC. To further your comment on folder structure I completed the following troubleshooting.

-removed the reefmaster AT5 and tested the bound AT5 (SAS Satellite imagery) alone. Success, the nautical chart data displayed.
-Removed the bound AT5 folder and copied a small RM project map to root. No Success.
-created a shaded relief folder moved files to folder, No Success.
-Created multiple preset RM project maps to root and shaded relief directory. No success.
-Created AT5 folder moved preset maps to this directory. no success.
-Created RM user map and copied to root, Shaded relief, and AT5 folder. No success.
-removed KML file and left Large AT5 file alone repeated. No Success.

Below is a screenshot of the chart categories.
Menu/chart options/view/categories
categories 1-4 are Reefmaster categories. the Nautical chart information is what I want to display. When RM files are on the SD card all other categories are hidden.

I have verified this on HDS7 Gen2, HDS7 touch, and HDS 5 Gen1. Also note these are the US version of the Lowrance unis, not the international version.

This is leading me to think the problem is somewhere in the layering of the RM map. Let me know your thoughts.

What KML file ? You should have an xml file. Please post a complete directory tree. This looks like something you are doing in IMC. Suggest read a few threads, starting with this one.....
