I am finding that exporting a map to sd card, with the demo version of Reefmaster, doesn't export the pallet colors. I used Google Earth for my shoreline border. When I delete the shoreline, then export the file, I can get the Pallet colors to export with the file.I read in the manual that I can draw in the border with a pencil tool but I don't see the tool on my tool bar. Does any one know why it doesn't like the border I used from Google Earth? Is there an easy way to use the outline of the lake that is superimposed on the default map? Surly I am making this harder than it is.

Only the HDS GPS units will use all the colors you see in RM. When you import the line it is a line and it loses the colors and other properties that may be associated with it in other programs. I believe that is a GIS thing.

The method used to in the demo to create a border in Google Earth is about the simplest. You can also download the shape files for Open Street Maps from a few locations and simply import these shape files. You can do the same with many other sources of maps, the ones produced by government bodies are generally freely accessible, just search their websites. The states has an awesome body of information to grab from with many lakes already mapped.

As for the pencil, I think you can only use it in the "Define Map View" setting of your project (top right bulls-eye button on the screen).

Did you switch your imported border line from 'island' (standard) to 'shore'?
