Hello,

there is a way that we can get more depth label displayed on chart ?

Even with the contour interval set to the minimum, I don't have enought depth data displayed on my HDS unit...

How to improve that ?

Hi Fred,
We can only assign a depth label to a contour, the unit decides how many labels to show. I am not sure there is a way of forcing more labels to be shown, but I'll look into it and let you know.

Depth labels on minor contour should do the job...

Do You mean more depth labels on units or on the RM program? For units: I believe in this moment there is only a trick with other GIS applications (ArcGIS - yes, GM - yes, QGIS - i don't know). But this is not for beginners.

Look to the sample from the Insight Planner.

I followed your instruction, BUT, when I create user map, the depth label completely dissapeared... No more major contour labels, and no minor contour label at all...

I can't understand why... Any ideas ???

If you are using GM your "value" attribute is set to numeric instead of text.

My maps are now perfect for me...

It will make a big difference while fishing... While it's a river, it's really more technical than a lake, all the details are important... Now I got it... Before that depth labels, I was not sure exactly where to fish, for exemple, with the downrigger set at 12f depth... Now I will... No more downrigger weight and lures lost... (I know, you will tell, use a downrigger at 12 feet depth ?)... I know... But It's the only effective way that we found to catch landlocked salmon)... It work 9 time out of 10 compared to all other method...

I did the same map as well for My Garmin Rino 655t and it work great too, plus my custom color that make the map really close to the HDS map (Thanks Trevor)... Only one thing, I don't see any différence in major and minor contour with the Garmin, same size, same color... And I need to be fully zoomed to see some depth labels... You need to play with zoom on the Garmin to get the informations you are looking for... (See pic). But, it's another story, and it's ok, it's not a Marine Unit, and the Screen size is very limited... But if you have any hint on that, it could be welcome...
