What's the best way to get two nearby lakes on one SD-card? I'd like to render them with raster background, but when I do that in IMC the yellow square around one lake covers parts of the other lake's raster background. Anyone here with a good suggestion for putting multiple rastermaps on one SD-card?

That's a tricky one actually. What is the arrangement of your lakes? Do the bounding boxes of each intersect the water area of the other?
I think it will be difficult to achieve what you want in RM, but you might be able to do it with a bit of further editing to your image and KML files outside of RM.

Yes, the boxes intersect with each other and this is what it looks like (I tried rendering without invertedshoreline, that's why the box is white in my example)...

Rendering vector maps with nearby lakes works fine, the boxes don't cover the maps on those so I thought rastermaps could work the same way.

I think you're going to need to combine the two rasters into a single image, and I can't immediately think of an easy way to do that. You'd also need to modify the kml file so that it defined the extend of the new combined raster..
You could try editing the background raster so that the overlapping area is transparent. I know raster transparency isn't support on the units (you get black, which is why we use white), but I am not sure if transparency is considered during the generation of the raster. It is probably worth a try..

If you want your inverted shoreline to mask both raster areas without overlapping, you should export both maps together from RM; either combine them in a single user map, or select both maps in the dashboard and export via right click. This should create a single inverted shoreline with two holes for the water, without an overlapping rectangle.

Ok, so it's the raster images overlapping that is the problem here, not the background maps (the yellow squares). Editing the raster backgrounds could be worth a try then.
I have the maps in different workspaces, how do I get them on the same user map/see them at the same time in the dashboard?
These lakes are connected, so I guess I could edit the shorelines to make it one lake instead if nothing else works. But I'd like the possibility to add other lakes later on to this project.

Did a quick test and made the overlapping parts on the raster images transparent, worked fine! I have to leave out the inverted shoreline shapefile though, otherwise all the overlapping parts are covered with yellow on both lakes, but I suppose your suggestion to export them together can solve this issue. I will try more later on and report back.

That's good to know Markus - I assume you built the raster in one go on the IMC?
The inverted shoreline is nice for clipping the raster to the shoreline, otherwise you get those jagged/fuzzy edges that you can see in your example. If you can get both of your projects into workspace, you can export maps together to get that single file. Otherwise perhaps a bit of work in QGIS with the two inverted shorelines, to fix up the overlap.

Yes, I built it in one go. You're right about the shoreline. I have edited my sonar files, so I can't simply open the original slg-files in another workspace. Can I save/export them in any way and then open them from another workspace?
Below is what it looks like when I include the inverted shoreline files in the build. (I don't get this problem when rendering isobath-maps. I load all the vectorfiles and build it in one go, and nothing overlaps.)

You can export your adjusted depths in CSV or GPX format, and reimport those to the other project.
We don't use the inverted shoreline when exporting a pure vector map to AT5, although it is always exported as a shapefile because it can be useful. We use it only for clipping raster depth backgrounds.

That's good to know, I've been wondering what the inverted shoreline was for.:)It's a steep learning curve making those maps the way I want, and this forum is great for support!
What if I manually load all the shapefiles (incl inv. shoreline) into IMC for a pure vector map, will that build be different from the automated RM-build? Also, if I export shapefiles from vector format, can I then simply leave out the isobath shapefile and use the rest together with a raster background for a raster map, or should I always export with raster settings if the final product is a raster map?

Editing the inverted shoreline shapefiles in Qgis solved the problem.
