In the previous version I made 168 gpx files from Humminbird Recordings after adjusting the depths. I got a prompt to save as a gpx file in a folder and each file updated to a unique name. Those gpx files worked and they still import properly into the new version.

I want to add a bunch more tracks but can't get it to work now. I Import the records and can use EDIT and sonar to correct the depths. When I "Write To File" I don't see an option for gpx files under the Humminbird selection. What is saved is a file "000.HT". When I add another record and Write The File it overwrites the first one using the same filename. I changed the file names after each Write, re-saving three unique HT files. When I bring the three HT files back into Reefmaster all together the depth information is not there. Then, when I delete all that mess to start over, the three Records that were Written Out to HT files will no longer activate the Sonar selection. I can't edit them a second time and the HT files do not work in making a map.

Can I have my gpx files back, Please?

What else should I do?

Hi Green,

Just to be sure I am following you correctly:

1. You are importing sonar logs into RM, and editing the depths in the sonar viewer.
2. You then want to save the resulting tracks back to GPX format?

You need to select the GPX format and the option "Target Humminbird", which will add the GPX depth extensions for HB (otherwise the GPX format does not contain depth).
If you select multiple tracks at once for export, you will get a single GPX file which contains all of the separate tracks.

The .HT format is the Humminbird track format. This format contains position and depth, but no sonar information. The file names are fixed from 000.HT thru 049.HT and you get one file per track. This format is mostly useful for putting tracks back onto an HB unit.

I apologize Matt. I have not used the software for some months and should have spent some more time trying to fix this myself. After my post I went back and only then noticed that there is a gpx option on the Write To File menu and there is a selection at the bottom to set them for Humminbird.

Thanks for being so responsive.

I have not been using the software for a while because the map I have on the sonar works so well. I'm adding to it now.

Thanks Again.

No worries Green. Nothing in that part of the program has changed for quite a while, so I was hoping it was still there! (I did check :) )

I just finished editing and saving about 8 tracks in just a few minutes. This is Soooo much faster than the previous version!

Ah - you must be coming from quite an old version then (1.6?). 1.7 had a lot of performance improvements.
