When we export a waypointlist to SHP file, all different icons in Reefmaster are converted to icon = POBSTRN_2 in the SHP-file.

It would help if you could change this to POBSTRN_1; POBSTRN_2; POBSTRN_3; ... . This way we easily can convert to the appropriate Lowrance icon for later use in the IMC.

POBSTRN_2 is a picked icon from the IMC icon list, before Matt create a really selection function for IMC icons. The user has the possibility to see this icon in the unit, and he can edit this in a GIS application (other symbols and so on). You can use the icon name for Your intention.

If You change the waypoint symbol names into POBSTRN_1, _2 ... and so on, the most icons not visible in the units.

o.k. bad idea, but I wanted to be able to find/replace in group.
When reviewing sonarlogs, I put waypoints in Reefmaster and wanted to use this a base to replace them in group in external software to the appropriate Lowrance icons.

Shapefile export for waypoints is very basic at the moment. It's really just a placeholder until we work out how to deal with IMC icons. I guess one way you could do it now would be to export each of your groups to separate shapefiles, either using a separate set in RM for each group, or selecting in the global view (e.g. draw a box around the waypoints you want to export), or choose from the list in the waypoint manager.

Danny, the way with many different shapefiles is not optimal. In the GIS application You can sort the columns and allocate a Icon to one or more points with the field calculator. Presupposition is, that a point selection over names or other description is possible.
