I own a marine electronics company here in texas. I was contacted by a customer to survey 25 acres of seabed for debris.
I used a simrad nss12 evo3s with the Ai 3-1 ducer. I recorded sonar logs as .sl2 format. It was about 25 min of data and a file size of 600mb.
I found this software and downloaded the demo to see if it fit my needs. The problem im running into is when i try to import the file it gets to the sidescan data import bar and gets 98% of the way through then locks up the program and force shuts it down.

Running on a 2023 Ryzen 9 5000 processor 32gb ram windows 11 pro. The computer shows no indication of over load have tried running on an older 2018 Dell XPS 13" i7 with 16gb ram. Same issue. The .sl2 file populates fine in the simrad. I have not tried a smaller file. Any help would be appreciated. I just dont want to burn the $50usd to buy the program and have the same issue. If its a demo program issue and the full program will work im all for it. Thanks.

If you can send me a small SL2 file, I can test on my computer. Then you know if your computer or the SL2 files from the Simrad or the problem.

Good idea, Danny. Unfortunately, in rare cases, RM can't read SL2/SL3 logs in their entirety. However, there are other solutions:

- In IMC, in Sonar Mode, you can export the log or all logs together as a CSV file (depth values ​​only). The CSV file can then be imported into RM.

- The good old Lowrance SonarViewer can also read SL2, but it's harder to find and doesn't seem to run on newer operating systems.

- You can also run the log on another device in the demo version and record it. You might also want to run and export a USR v4 track if the "new" log still doesn't work.
