I'm exporting E1 and E2 hardness layer shapefiles for analysis in GIS and am hoping someone can provide descriptions of the fields in the accompanying .dbf file. I'm assuming that VALUE and VALUE2 are the raw bottom hardness values. Is TYPE a bottom hardness classification based on the VALUE fields? What is the difference between VALUE and VALUE2? Thanks for any guidance you can provide.

Hi,
Sorry for such a late reply - missed this.
VALUE1/2 are raw values at the lower/upper range of an iso-area - i.e. the values that are assigned to the contours that make up the edges of the iso-area polygon. The TYPE field is something specific to exports for use in an tool that was able to convert Shapefiles to an older Garmin map format. This is a bit of an anachronism now and best ignored.
