Sounds like your unit is working fine on the navigation side since you’re clear on bird but fuzzy on sonarview. That usually points to a transducer or interference issue rather than a display problem. Check for these common causes:
Transducer placement – If it’s mounted too close to the motor or hull step, you’ll get fuzzy sonar returns.
No issues there.. dealer installed, everything has been working fine from that standpoint
Electrical interference – Fish finders can pick up noise from bilge pumps, engines, or poorly grounded wiring. Try running the unit on a separate battery to test.
It is on seprate battery, only transducer and minn kota on this one, and if only helix or both, no difference
Water turbulence – Air bubbles under the transducer affect sonar clarity. Make sure it sits below the waterline at speed.
Settings issue – Reset sonar to default, then adjust sensitivity and noise filters slowly for clarity.
Did that already... only issue is sonarview, not the bird...
Damaged cable – Even a small pinch or corrosion can distort sonar signals.
New cable, new install, no issues..
If none of that fixes it, upload a screenshot of your sonar settings and boat setup—someone here can fine-tune it with you.
By the way, I recently had a similar frustration when fixing something totally different—my sliding wardrobe at home was stuck worse than a shallow-water anchor. Ended up using Amrah Glass & Aluminium for a quick
wardrobe repair and they were great. Sometimes it just takes the right expert who knows the details!
