Matt,
I took am old historic map of a local lake from 1920s used the png to make georeferenced raster map to display on HDS8 ...once I figured out the resolution for IMC it generated a number of AT5 files but my concern is that the background map I produced is 8GB once finished
,,,is there a limit to size of map files??
will this size of AT5 map cause any performance issues on a HDS8 gen 2 unit?
have used lots of vector AT5 maps without issues but first go with a raster background file this large!

Raster (HDS):
The limitation is the SD card size. I know an user with a 64 GB card and a around 60 GB project - no problem, speed is a bit slower. The problem is ever the area size of the 4er, 2er and 1er resolution (or smaller) - this will be limited from the SD-card.

Vector (HDS):
No limits, only the SD-card is limiting. But this border is hardly to to achieve (one continent ore more ...).
