I failed to make a usable map for the GPS.

I finally got a map project where everything seemed to work. See First Version picture.

I created a User map that I think did not come out well. I don't know what it should have looked like, but it had no boundary. I gave up on that for now. See the User Map picture.

I went back to the Map Project and exported it for a Humminbird map. I was surprised that only 8 tracks showed up for placement in the Matrix folder on the SDHC card when I had 40 recordings in the map project. When I viewed the "map" it had no boundary and only the residuals from the eight tracks could be seen, no contours. Please see "Failed Snapshot Screen"

I plan to go back through it all again tonight. I'll appreciate any help I can get.....LOL

BTW I'm very happy with the software so far. I'm sure it's just a steep learning curve for me so far. One thing surprised me though. I have a publicly available Bathy map of this reservoir from 1984 data, which looked like it should be accurate. However, I found a mid-channel hump that's about 30ft higher than the channel bottom, and it forms a great looking saddle with the shoreline. That feature, large as it is, cannot be seen at all on the Bathy of the full reservoir. I can hardly wait to see what else is out there.

I've gotten two "fatal errors" trying to submit this post. I've taken off the attachments.

And again. Sorry. I have a bad attachment.

There is a max file size for uploads that I exceeded.

Hi Green,
The tracks that are created when the map is exported need to be styled to show as solid lines in your HB unit. See this tutorial for steps on how to do that. The number of tracks that are created for a map export won't correspond to the number of tracks that were used to create the map, nor directly to the number of contours in the map. Each track can hold a large number of contours, as separate track "segments".
From the look of your HB snapshot, you do have the contour tracks on your unit - although from the look of your user map, you have a lot of contours which may end up looking a little cluttered on your unit. See how you go - you can always increase the contour increment and rebuild your map with few final contours, if required.

Hi Green. I was wondering how did your project look like on your Humminbird unit.

I´m trying to convert data to my Humminbird 581 unit with the same result as you did at first.

Then I change the contour from dots to line. And now I got only line with no depth changes. This is harder to do and more complex than I expected.
