The symbols are fine. The IMC has to serialize the tag names so they look really screwy after the first character. The Elite 5 HDI only supports the values of -1, 0, and 255 (Border Only, Don't Draw Over Raster, Draw Over Raster). Any partially transparent value is translated as 255.

Hard to be specific...it has completely separate chart code.

Major Differences are the limited color indexing and no support for partial transparency. The IMC is designed to protect you from knowing most of the subtleties. Because they are completely different systems, each will have it's own quirks.

You do not understand.
The screenshots shows the same map.
On units Elite HDI perfectly displayed NOS colors.
Conclusion: for any value of transparency and in the presence of raster -> vector will not be drawn. If no raster, then the polygons are drawn without transparency.

Yes this is clear - if You not use the at5.xml and raster at5, no Lowrance unit can display transparency.

But with at5.xml (ad raster at5) only the HDS units can display transparency. The conclusion is correct, that you don't need the at5.xml in Elite units - it's senseless.

But all this is known for a long time ...

I had means another: if you have a at5.xml file (with raster) on the sdcard then you will not see vector maps.
Which system uses Elite HDI?

The Elite is an Indigo system, only complete compatible with AT5 v10.

The conclusion, that an at5.xml on SD card will not display vector maps, is fundamental not correct. It must be an another reason in your case. You can send Your shape files in a zip folder ...

Indigo do not support raster! But HDI is support raster :) The more supported Atlas 12 :)

My understanding was any values beside -1, 0, or 255 was interpretted as 255 on the Elite HDI. We can quickly check that at the office if it is the case but a bit busy this week.
