The most recent post about the "radeon crash" issue was from over a month ago, so I was wondering if there has been any news on this front?

I had last used my Sonarview on my Windows 7 laptop over a year ago, and it worked fine. I just installed it on my HP Pavilion 360 Laptop, and re-registered it. It will open, but when try to load my .sl2 files, near the end of the bar, it goes to a black screen and freezes the computer. I have to restart.

My computer uses a AMD Ryzen 7 4700U with Radeon Graphics 2.00 GHz. My licensed installation of Sonarview is upgraded to version 1.0.38.0

I've noted that others have "solved" this problem by going back to an earlier version of the Radeon drivers, I think from 2015 and 2016 or so. But of course this is a fairly new computer, which never had drivers older than 2021, and I would not want to do this.

Has anyone come up with a solution to this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe some users have been able to get the SV working after having AMD/Radeon issues by experimenting with the settings available in the Catalyst control centre. Unfortunately I don't know what settings have made a difference. We have purchased 3x different Radeon cards to try and reproduce the issue but have been unable to do so.

I just downloaded and installed the Reefmaster Waypoint Manager (trial), which includes a side scan Sonar Viewer. Surprisingly, and interestingly, it works on this program.

I thought mentioning this may be a help troubleshoot the problem, because the incompatibility with some (unknown which nor why) Radeon software or hardware must then be in a difference between these two programs: Sonar Viewer in the Sonar Viewer program, and Sonar Viewer in the Waypoint Manager program. Some way they are processing this video information must be different between the two.

Have you given up on radeon issues ?
Would like to play with creating maps of underwater structures but it consistently crashes on me upon loading logs.
Got a 6600XT on win 10 64bit here on the "Powerhouse PC"
Trial works fine on a intel laptop with onboard graphics but its not suitable for the loads of multiple 2gb log files (.SL3 from lowrance HDS-7 g3)

Definitely haven't given up on trying to resolve Radeon issues, but have reached something of a dead end in investigations. We simply can't reproduce the issue here, despite trying with multiple Radeon cards of different types.
As far as mapping goes, ReefMaster has a software rendering fallback so will work without any discrete graphics card, albeit with some reduction in performance and functionality.
The Waypoint Manager also has software fallback rendering, but also doesn't display sidescan over the map view. This is the part that is (almost certainly) causing the Radeon crashes. If anyone who has this issue is interested in working with me to try and resolve it, then please let me know. Fair warning: This would probably involve a fairly tedious back and forth trying different versions of the SV to try and identify exactly what triggers the problem.

Wouldn't mind giving it a shot but all trials have passed due date :/
