Hi Dave,
ReefMaster does not (yet) export overlay images in any map format, although that is planned for the next release.
Your best bet now is to calibrate your image within Google Earth to create a KML file, and then use this. You can add ReefMaster map components such as depth areas by exporting these from RM in GE format and combining them with the overlay within GE desktop (add all components to the same root folder) and then exporting the whole lot again as a KMZ file. One thing to be aware of is that mobile GE does not always handle big image overlays very well, as they are very memory intensive. You might be better off tracing features of interest (creek beds, rock piles etc) and adding these to a user map, then exporting your whole map as a pure vector map from RM. This will keep memory requirements much lower than using a large overlay image.

took your suggestion and calibrated image with overlay in GE....
then hand drew in old river bed ,islands etc in GE.
then I saved the file as KML and KMZ(ps.. I didn't add any depth data from reefmaster)
now IM Stuck ....I cant seem to import file into RM to add to user map???
I tried to import kmz into images
I get error message
'Object reference not set to an instance of an object'.

sugestions???

Hi Dave,
You need to import your tracings as either custom polygons or custom paths, depending on whether you created lines or polygons within GE. You will not be importing the image into RM, as such.
Go to your user map, select the custom paths/polys group and click the import custom... button and choose your KMZ file. You might want to create a KMZ file separately for paths and polys.
Once your lines are in the user map, you can edit them - width, colour, fill and so forth - and export them to whatever format you need. If you are creating a map for a Lowrance device that supports raster backgrounds (HDS and later, Elite HDI) then you might want to create this raster background using the IMC directly and your image overlay KML file. See this thread for more on how to do this.

ps the previous thread which u outlined with drawing lines and polys in RM
then export to GE option now displays normal on IOS7 as well as pc :)
