I've been messing around with different ways of mapping our rocky arhipelago here in Sweden and my most succesfull attemp so far was to use the drone to make orthophotography with with correct exposure for the sea bed and not land. The accuracy is ±2 m when I verify the position against the reality.

I can create mb tiles and get is as background in the map project but I need it as background in the sonar viewer. I havent tested MOBAC yet but is seems to be a rather tricky way compared to when you want a background in the map project. I could get the tracks in the global view but I really need the sonar view.

I used a Phantom Pro V2 and P4Dreact to create the orthophoto. The photos got a bit washed out, probably need to tweak to exposure settings a bit more.
No ground points and flight height of 115 m.

In the tracks view within ReefMaster or in the standalone Sonar Viewer application? You can do it in ReefMaster by going to VIEW/Background images and selecting your MBTiles there, assuming you have first imported it into your workspace.

BTW, very nice images. I have been wanting to give drone photography a go for a while, might get around to it one day! Would be a nice way to supplement RM maps as well..

Thanks, I was really impressed on how well it managed to create the Orthophoto and the accuracy was just amazing,

I use ReefMaster and it is in the sonar view where you can check each depth points that I need the background image.

created files for the app AlpineQuest
Loaded the files into the app
Measured where I dared to go to get accurate depth data, used a row boat on some places
