Hello,
I'm creating contours in Global Mapper then importing the dataset into RM as a Shapefile. Before I import the contours into RM, I make sure the contour dataset -> Elevation Attribute fields exist and the values are populated as Fathoms. When importing the Shapefile in RM, I map the "Depth 1" field to 'Elevation' ; Value is "Positive" as "Fathoms".

When viewing the contours in the RM map viewer, the labels do not match the values stored in the Elevation Attribute table. There is no 'Fathoms' option to select in the RM settings, only Feet or Meters. I'm trying to figure out what formula or calculation RM applies to the 'Elevation Attribute values' when importing the contour Shapefile?

Thanks!

Hi Matt,
I sent the contour dataset in question (.zip file) to the email listed above.

Thanks

The shallowest contour line is 80 fathoms (480ft), so I did the math and the labels in RM are displaying depth in meters. The xyz dataset was imported into Global Mapper with Z = meters so maybe that has something to do with it.
