I am trying to open a ReefMaster database file (.rm2db) that someone sent to me. I get a SQL error and the file will not open. Does the sender need to attach other accessory files? Or is there something I can do? Thanks to anyone that can help!

EDIT: on second look, the file ends in .sl3 not .rm2db, but in Windows Properties, the file type is listed as ReefMaster Database File (.rm2db)

The error details are below:

SQL logic error or missing database

An SL3 file is a Lowrance sonar log file, so trying to open it as a database file won't work. To view this file, create a new workspace and import it (import GPS assets), then open the track after import to view the trail on a map, and view the sonar.

Hi Matt, thanks for your response. I am working in ReefMaster 2 and when I try to import from import logs and waypoints, the file does not appear as an option to import (I'm looking in the correct file location).

Is it definitely an SL3 file? What version of ReefMaster are you running?

Reefmaster 2.1.52.0; I'm pretty sure - it says .sl3 and the sender said that was the type.

This part seems odd to me. Any chance you can zip this file up and share it to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. so that I can take a look? If the extension is SL3, then you should be able to see it when you go to import, so that part seems odd as well. Are file extensions showing in your Windows explorer window?

Thanks for your help, the sender found the original file as .sl3 and that opened easily according to your directions.
