Before I had no problems in pulling these two views up but ever sense the down load I am unable to do so. (even with the old tracks I have) The only thing that shows up is the track I made...going into the tracks I can see the shaded track points and depths.

Going into contour mode just pulls up the aerial map with no reference to the track and going into 3D now pulls up a blank screen.

What am I now doing wrong or was their a change to now pull these views up?

Hi Tom,
No change there. Sounds like the map area has not been defined, and you can just see the tracks in the define map view? Try redrawing a small area over the tracks and see if you get a map in your contour and 3D views.

One other possibility that I can think of is that your map is in vector mode and the depth range of the map is not big enough to include a single major contour value (all maps default to vector mode when first created, and upgraded workspace projects will be in vector mode until they are changed). In this case, there will not be any isobaths (depth area polygons) created, and you will get a blank map (although you may get some minor contours showing).

Try changing the Colour mode of the map to Raster (in the map settings) and see if a map appears in the contour view. If this is the case, then you'll need to set a smaller contour interval to get the map to show properly in vector mode.

If none of that works, please post some screen-grabs of what you are getting, along with your map settings, and we can take it from there.

Thanks Matt, tried switching from from vec. to rast. and no luck. I will do a screen vid to show what I'm doing so you can tell me what I'm doing wrong if you don't mind.

It has to be a setting I have wrong or something because RM worked great before the download.

I did some reading with the att. manual in RM and fixed the problem...the problem being me and not taking the right steps to get what I needed.

I re-transferred my DAT files and (defined my map area) and all is good to go. One step was all it was and it was all due to lack of knowledge on my part. The map is starting to come together great and can't wait to post the end result. May not be what some are posting but for what I need it for it's GREAT!
