Hi Matt,

I think I just stumbled upon a bug of some kind in 1.6 during the AT5 export.
I have successfully exported my charts several times, both as vector and raster. But after testing and experimenting with the Bottom Composition feature, I was no longer able to export the ‘normal’ bathymetric chart. All I got was the bottom composition chart. I tried to toggle it on and off, and also tried to set the opacity to zero, but it made no difference. Looking at the chart in the HDS during zoom, it actually looks like the bathymetric chart is ‘hidden’ in a layer below the bottom composition. Restarting ReefMaster clears the problem though.

Another issue I noticed is that ReefMaster 1.6 seems to forget which palette I have defined in my project!

Last issue; when exporting my project to AT5 automatically via the IMC, I would like to get both the bathymetric chart and the background image (aerial photo). The output looks fine. I get the ‘at5.xml’ and ‘large.at5’ files and the ‘ShadedRelief’ folder. But the HDS does not show any raster image for some reason (Yes, Shaded relief is selected). Instead I get a yellow square where the image should have been.

Am I doing something wrong, or have I misunderstood this feature?

Hi Mats,

ReefMaster doesn't export any background imagery as raster. It exports the depth background raster when in raster mode, or else if just exports the blank square that you described. The reason for the "dummy raster" is to enable transparency - it is a quirk of Navico units that opacity doesn't work without some form of raster layer - so we just create one the same colour as the standard Lowrance land. We are planning on adding imagery export - quite soon. We are also experimenting with a better satellite background that looks like it might be affordable, and allow export within the terms of us (MapBox - check it out and see if the imagery is any good for your area).

The bottom type issue does sound like a bug - thanks for the report, we'll look into it. You could try moving everything over to a user map, then you get a few more edit options and a bit more control; for example, you can use the transparency "trick" to colour your bathymetry and bottom type iso's.

cheers,
Matt

I've taken a look at the code, and the bottom composition export is definitely a bug. It's exporting hardness areas when they are available, regardless of whether they are currently selected. As you noted earlier, the workaround is to close the project/ReefMaster and reopen, if you have already generated hardness and want to export without (or - move your isobaths to a user map).

We'll get that fixed shortly - we already have a maintenance release planned for a couple of days with a few other niggles that have come up, so I'll let you know when that is available.

cheers,
Matt

Thanks for the explanantion Matt.
For some reason I was sure you already had implemented export option for background raster image. Sorry, my bad :-)

Yes Matt, and also if i set BT-opacity to "0" nothing happens. As alternate i set this value to "1" and than the BT is hidden.

Beste wishes
