Hi,

I wounder if I can draw strait lines between too Points in Reefmaster?
Need it to try and set a new GPS Point where a wreck might be...
.... so I can go to that GPS spot and start my search!

I have the GPS Point for two objekts that need to line upp and then a distance from a third Point... and where the lines convert, well, X marks the spot!

Is it possible in Reefmaster?

Yes, you can create line or polygon shapes as part of a map layer.
To create a set of lines, do the following:

1. Open up a map project - could be an existing one, or a new one.
2. Add a new layer by clicking on the "New" button underneath the layers list. Choose type "polyline".
3. Make sure the new layer is selected, then click the "Add New" button in the components section underneath the layers list.
4. Draw your lines, and click "Save" after each one. You can style your line width and colour as you wish.

Will try this method.
I tried exporting lines as a separate trail layer. I was able to import lines from Google Earth (drew the trails as lines on Google Earth, then successfully imported the lines into Reefmaster--similar method as to importing the lake outline). The lines were visualized well after map generation in Reefmaster, but the lines were not visualized on the fish finder when exported (the rest of the map looked great and was perfectly functional on the fish finder) I did try exporting the trail layer lines as a separate file with partial success--My fish finder is running out of internal memory, so only some of the trail lines exported.

Using the method you posted should work better.

When you say that the lines looked OK in RM but didn't show in the finished map, that sounds odd. If the lines are in the map project (shown in the map view, rather than the tracks view), then they should be included in the export if they are visible within RM at the time the export is made. Can you show a screen shot? How did you import the Google Earth lines into your map? The best way to do this if you just want to include the lines in your map is to import the lines as a layer by clicking the "Import" button under the Layers tab.

Yes, I see the lines in the final generated RM map, but not on the fishfinder (Lowrance Elite5 HDI). All the other layers and waypoints are visualized perfectly on the fishfinder
Imported from GE as a separate layer (went back in time on GE to mark/line the original creek channel before the lake was impounded/filled)

My initial thought was that it was a color palette issue

I’ve been so happy with RM, that I stopped worrying about not having the original creek channel marked/lined; but it would be nice (also to mark some of the original ponds and road beds before impoundment)

Yes, I did import these from Google Earth using the "add layer" function.
As part of my problem solving, I did try exporting with Atlas version 10.

Of interest, the roadbed and creek channel layers are visualized on an iPhone and iPad exported as MBTiles using Map Plus App

After thinking about this some more, could this go back to the opacity/transparency issue with the Lowrance Elite units?

Over the next few days, I'll try changing the palette option for the GE imported lines. (values -1,0,255)?

Of note, I have been exporting the maps to a micro SD card for the Elite 5 using the most basic preset style

I'm going to look into this some more and run some tests on an Elite 7 Ti to see if I can reproduce. It may be a little while before I can give you a definitive answer, as holiday season is upon us, but it should be perfectly possible to show all the lines from your RM map on your unit.
