Admiratly Bathymetric data for my stretch of coast comes as .bag files. Is there an easy way of converting them to csv?

I woud try GDAL, especially gdal_translate. Usage examples here www.gdal.org/frmt_bag.html. Examples use tiff as outputformat but use XYZ www.gdal.org/frmt_xyz.html instead for text based output.

Thanks for the fast reply, but that's way above my pay grade, I was hoping for something more plug and play.

Where are you getting the files from? If it is from the UKHO website, then I think that you can specify the file type during download, and CSV (or XYZ) is one of the options given.

If you can show a link to your data, or to some similar kind of dataset I can try to write a command that you can juss copy-paste and run without a need to understand what happens.

Just an update. After a bit of digging around the Admiralty site I found the CSV files, a 2016 survey, and they are a Goldmine for me. :)

So no need for .Bagfiles and no need really to log Sonar anymore.
