Good Morning.
My situation is the following, when I bought and started using the RM, I used data from a Garmin. At this point I got a Humminbird Helix 5 DI and I'm satisfied.

My problem at this moment is to be able to use the Bottom Composition module with my sonar log files (I already bought and activated the module). I did some searches on the forum and found out reefmaster.com.au/index.php/forum/suppor...-composition-plug-in , so to be sure, with the .HT files I will not be able to use the module? Will I have to use .dat? And how to do that?

Note: I am using RM with the aim of creating countour and 3D maps for underwater works (launching fiber optic cables and reporting), and choosing the best location or way to launch the cable.

Best regards

.HT files only contain position and depth, and cannot be used for the Bottom Composition module. You need to explicitly log the full sonar return to a sonar log file, which will result in a set of files on your SD card; a .DAT file along with a folder of the same name that contains a set of .SON and .IDX files. You import the data into ReefMaster by selecting the .DAT file during asset import.
You should consult your unit's manual for precise information on how to log sonar.
