Hi all,
i m focussing quite some time now on bottom composition module
using fixed sampling method at freshwater inland lakes:
-200kHZ
-manual depth range about 2.5 times the max expected water depth ( to get E2 values)
-sonar (lowrance elite ti) always on fresh water modus
understanding E1;E2; peak SV but want to go the next level:
i would like to take soil samples (Van Veen grabber) at locations were different hardness and roughness is shown on the map.
Is there anyone who has done this allready and got valueable results?
my intention is to see a certain returnvalue (colour on the bottom hardness map) and to know what type of soil it is.
if i am correct there are some problems with this:
-different return values at flat bottom/steep bottom (drop offs) as the acoustic signal returns in a different angle..
-different return values in e.g. 2m waterdepth vs 15m waterdepth
Hope someone can point out more problems, or can tell me this sampling can be valueable...
thank you in advance!
