I start to check this option, it's looking good, but there are some problems:
1. I work on one sonar log, over an hour, save it and sometimes the project didn't recognize the changes. (after refresh the map).
2. It can be a good improvement If I can to mark some depth point together and move all of them at once to the correct depth. (doing it for each one when you have more than 10 points, is annoying) .
3. I saw that after the save, I have a new file xxxx.sl3.idx. When I copy this file and the sl3 to a new project, RM just ignore all the work that I did in the idx file  .
4. Where RM save the changes ? I want to share the SL3 file with some projects. (I split my big old project to some smaller one).
5. Which file I need to copy/keep with the updates that I have done with depth correct?

Best Regard

Hi,

1) Sorry, I don't have an answer.
2) Have you tried to keep the mouse button pressed and then keep on dragging along the bottom line?
3) "Correct depths" is correcting depth values which were captured from the sonar logs and then saved into the Reefmaster database. The native logs are not edited. That means that you can't transfer your edits into another projects and for other users by copying the SL3 files.
You can copy edited tracks into another projects which are stored into the same Reefmaster database from the list of imported tracks. Right click the track, select "Add Track to Map Project". So do not copy the sonar log but copy the converted and edited track by using the Reefmaster application.
4) Reefmaster saves the depth values into the database into a table that is reserved for track points. I do not recommend to play with the database and tables directly with third party tools if you are not certain that you know what you are doing. Even then keep a backup.
5) The Reefmaster database (.rm2db). If you want to share edited depths between different databases I believe you must export the track to CSV format and then import that CSV into another database but this breaks the connection between the depth points and the name of the sonar log as an origin of the data. I recommend to keep all the projects which are using the same sonar logs in a same database.

2. Yes, cannot drag more than one.
3-5. Ok, so i have to keep and manage all the sl3 file in one big database and share the sl3 file between my projects . I will check it.

I may not undestand how you are editing. Do you work as in the attached image? If you keep mouse button pressed and make a continuous drag then each depth point gets located along the dragged path. I guess that you are doing some other kind of editing.

Hi
When you press on the "Correct Depths" button, the cursor change to pencil (edit) mode . in this state, i can sometimes drag just a little bit the point and that's it. Sometimes i can't even drag the deapth point at all :( .

When the cursor is in arrow mode, i can darg the points and correct the depths' but one point each time.
I can't select more then one depth point.

I want to do to select 10 point together and drag them at once.

I am not sure if the tool does not work for you or if it is designed to work in a bit uncommon way and you have not yet got it. When you have the pencil active as in the screenshot above you can't select points and drag them even that is the common way of editing for example in GIS programs. User is supposed to draw a line segment that follows the desired bottom line. Depth points which are perpendically beneath or over the drawing line should jump automatically and snap to the line. Red arrows in the screenshot presents those semiautomatic jumps. Test it by drawing a horizontal line that has quite large offset from the current depth points and you should see how the points start snapping. If they don't you may have some trouble in your installation.

This is correct. The "pencil" tool lets you redraw the points by holding down the left mouse button and tracing the bottom on the sonar image. If you change the mouse mode to "select", then you can drag individual points. There is no way to select and drag multiple points - this wasn't really considered necessary since you would not normally want to drag multiple points to the same location.

Thanks Matt
Now it is clear what is the "pencil" mode in "depth correct" :) .

So is the .sl3.idx the track with the depth edits. I noticed that these were created after I imported my tracks that were associated with a tide station... updating the true depth. ...So which track do we make the isobaths and countour lines from after editing individual soundings in sonar longs? or do we need to delete the original track?
