Hi
I start to check the live data option.
I Have Gen3 and connect the NMEA to my PC (I7-6700, 16GB memory).
My project map area is 13KmX15Km . (Depth 80-200 m). about 161 files.
Every manual refresh take about 70 seconds :(

Is there any option to speed it so i can use this feature ?
I was tried to find where to change the Live data refresh frequency with no sucess.
Thanks

I want now to connect reefmaster to my GEN3 in my boat and create live mapping instead of off line mapping at home.

The data is transfer ok from nema0183 to rs232 cable to my pc.

If i run live data with no project, it run ok and not stuck but this not help me :( , i need it with my project .

Live mapping is not really intended for large maps, as will get the issues you describe. At this time the entire map is regenerated when new data is added, and we don't have any plans to change that in the near term. The best approach is probably to limit your mapped area as far as possible so that the generated map is smaller and builds much more quickly - a map of, say, 2x2km should generate within a few seconds on a reasonably fast machine. If you want to see your larger, existing map whilst recording new data then you could export this in MBTiles image format and add it back as a background image.

Hi Matt
You mean to export the current state of my project to MBTiles and then import it as image backgound to RM ?

Yes. If you want to be able to see your whole map whilst recording new data to fill in new areas, then you could export your current map as an MBTiles file and add this to your workspace. You could then either create a new project and add the image as a layer, or just limit the area of your current project to the area you are recording in - the smaller the better. Then the new area will regenerate very quickly, but your existing map will still be visible. Realistically you will never need an area bigger than about 1km square to cover new mapping, and this area can be resized or moved as required during the course of data collection.
