I am working on a data logger project, and am going to be parsing GPS data and saving it to a CSV file we are building on the device. I have no problem recording all the data needed, but my question arises with doing tide corrections from the tracks using UTC.

Do I need to convert from UTC to our Timezone before logging it, or can I just leave it at UTC and will ReefMaster correct as it's imported?

We are trying to track change over time for a specific area, and with the amount of tide we have here, our readings could be off over a foot per hour off!

The easiest thing to do is leave everything as UTC. Make sure you import your tide data in UTC and perhaps also leave RM showing times in UTC. You do get the option when importing tide data to choose between between UTC and local.

Thanks for the reply Matt. We have been doing lakes so it hasn't been a issue for us until now.

Now if there was a way to import data and output a finished chart automatically I could just sit back on the couch all day and do nothing!!
