I am working on a trial version of the software and tying to import images from Google Earth. The tutorial and reference guide suggest that a KML version of the image can be exported from GE that will not require rectification in RM. I find no functionality to do that and web searches suggest that can't be done in GE. As a fall back, I saved JPG images and imported them into RM assuming I could rectify them inside the map. When I attempt that, I can get the stretch-squeeze method to work but not the point to point which is what I want to do. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but when I click on the point to point rectification option nothing at all happens. If someone could point me in the direction that I need to go, it would be much appreciated.

To calibrate an image within Google Earth you need to create a Ground Overlay object, assign your image and then calibrate by dragging over the map within GE. You can then export this overlay by right-clicking it in the list at the left of window, and "save place as". Choose the KML extension and ensure that both the KML and original image files are in the same location when importing into RM, which you should do via the KML file (not the image).
To use the point calibration within RM, select point calibration mode in the image right-click menu, then put the mouse into Calibrate mode and enter two points - ideally far apart and not on the same N/S or E/W planes.
