Great job on all the improvements in RM2!

I have a fairly large map that has no problems regenerating (few minutes) but when I tried to export the MBTiles it has been running for 12 hours and just completed level 19 and its already a 13 GB file. I have a high res satellite mbtile of the same area and it is much smaller.

Are there any settings for the MBTiles export?

Thanks
Dan

How big is the area of the map that you are exporting? Try and avoid exporting any non-contiguous maps together (e.g. separate lakes) as the entire area will be exported.

Yep, its a single lake map approximately 30,000 acres.

Everything else seems to be preforming fine including 3D viewing.

Yeah something is not right there - that is only about 10km square and should take a few minutes. What layers are you exporting? Images also? How big?

Guess I wasn't sure what layers would get exported, do all visible layers at the of export get included? Is this true for all export types?

Yes I did have the satellite mbtile image loaded at the time of export, I can remove that and try again.

I will post an update when I get a chance to try again.

Thanks.

Map exports now include all layers except the OSM background map, so yes it will try and generate your image layer again in its entirety if it is showing.

I tried to export MBTiles without a background image and just a simple lake border and a handful of sonar logs. After regeneration and export as MBTiles it still ran for over 6 hr only making it to level 18, the output file was much smaller but still taking forever. Only running around 50% cpu & memory.

thoughts?

Sounds weird to me. Any chance you can share your workspace? (via a filesharing service - zip up everything in the worskspace folder).

I had the same issue today - made it to zoom level 17 after about 3 hours then crashed

River 30km x 200m

Major contours at 1m and minor at .25m

Layers - shaded relief , major and minor contours , water within shoreline

Any thoughts.

I removed the shoreline layer I created in google earth and then defined the map area the same size and works with no issues.

I noticed the shoreline I created didn't fully enclose in one corner but the water layer was within the bounds, is this creating the issue?

I've been looking into this today, and have no issues with a 35km x 5km map, which never peaks above 2GB during an MBTiles export. There must be something going on that we are not reproducing here, so if possible it would be great if you could share your workspace with the project set up in the way that failed.
