I have 21 islands on my lake, stored as KLM files. In V1, I could open the folder with them, highlilght them all, and import with one click. In V2, I am unable to highlight them all (Shift/Click) or even individually (Ctrl/Click each one). I'm having to import each one separately. I'm using the edit window on the right side, as before. One shoreline, 21 islands. Shoreline imported fine by itself! So do single islands.

I'm not sure how you'd like feedback as those of us who couldn't wait proceed until we have our first map. Thought maybe different threads for each topic may help those coming up behind me. There will probably be lots of feedback moving ahead, so let me know how you'd like to keep some order to it.

I may have a raster/vector question too. Don't see the option to choose which one yet. (maybe later in the project--its ongoing)

Thanks TJ - that should be an easy fix for the island issue.

Vector/raster used to be a choice between generating isobaths or not. Now that option has been renamed as a check-box "Generate isobaths", as raster is always generated (and always was in the background, actually).
The difference in RM2 is that there is much more flexibility in the way that map layers can be displayed. If you check the option "generate isobaths", you will get an isobaths layer and also a "flat raster" layer, and you can choose which to display in the layers panel. The only reason you might not want to generate isobaths is performance - they do take longer to generate than the raster. The raster is always generated as this is used when generating contours and isobaths.

One thing you might be able to do as a stop-gap measure is open all of your KML files in GE, add all of the islands/shoreline to a new folder within GE and then save that folder as a new file. This way, you can import all of them into RM via one file.

Great. I love the smooth curves of raster contour porn! I'll play with trying to save them all as one KML file. When I did it previously, it just saved 21 separate KMS files in the one folder.

Make a new folder in GE first, then add all of your existing shorelines to it. Then right-click the folder and save that. You should get one file with all of your polygons in it.

Worked like a charm. Loads all the islands right up with one click!
