How fast can i drive the boat(recommended) when logging a shallow lake with sonar Lowrance Elite 7 Ti, to get reasonable good quality to make maps with contour and bottom composition? (maps are going to be used for fishing)

The Lake are about 12m as the deepest point, average should be about 3m.

Also what distance should i use between the tracks, 3m depth?, 6m depth? and so on?

I propose: do not follow the recommendations from Insight Genesis: BT =< 16 km/h, depth =< 32 km/h.

- use speed between 3 ... 8 km/h
- use a loop distance from 10-20 m, not more than 25 m, better about 5-10 m for a "rich in detail" chart

As a general rule I try for 1 sample every 1-2 meters ..... At one sample per second that works out to 3.6 - 7.2 km/hour

The Slower you go the more samples you get and I've never made a map that suffered from having too much data but plenty that suffer from not enough.

I have some info on the Elite 7 Ti on my blog that you may want to check out including an undocumented web browser interface you can use to transfer files to whatever device you have hooked to the Wifi. Just fire up a web browser in the Android or Apple device you are running the app on and type in the IP address
