Hi Matt. I' ve tried to edit my sonar logs, but no DS channel in sonar views window, found this: reefmaster.com.au/index.php/forum/suppor...ird-record-edit-mode
There is no changes in this case?

It might be a small comfort, but Humminbird is changing this themselves the new Helix G2 units have "true" downimaging even on the SI-models.

I own a Helix 5 CHIRP SI GPS G2 but nevertheless I can not see the DS channel in sonar view as there are no B004.SON/IDX files in the recorded data.

Did I miss the option to switch on DS recording in my device or are these generally not recorded?

Sorry, but I have no idea. Kind of silly if Humminbird did not add the new DI-channel to the sonarlog. It might be as simple as a mistake in the software. I would email Humminbird, they usually respond well to hints improvinig their software.

I was told the DS display of the Helix 5 CHIRP SI GPS G2 is just extracted form the SI signal.
As it is no additional data, it is not logged seperately.

Many HB units do not have a dedicated downscan channel, but some do. If it is available, we show it, but we do not produce the flipped aggregate of port & starboard downscan "like" display that the HB units show. There have been some requests for it, but it doesn't add any extra information so I am not convinced of the usefulness.
