Hello,

So i have a lot of tracks and multibeam data of a really big lake with various depths. I wanted to make every meter of depth a different color up to 15m,after that the depth doesnt really interest me.
I already made some big colortables which is pretty awkward in this program but okay. But it still bundles some depths together, for example 4-6m is the same color while 1 2 3 4 are different.
To fix this i thought to edit the depth range in a trow away test project and hit filter. Now it deleted all points after said depth, okay fine trow away project ill make a new one .... and to my amazement ALL my tracks were also edited!

My question now is can i get my old tracks back? I really really really dont feel like editing +-80 1-2GB tracks again ... what is the point of being able to edit individual tracks in a project?
I also tried using "User map"s but it mostly doesnt get the levels of each layer right, on my laptop and fishfinder its always the 4m contour over de 3m or the 8m contour of the 5m somewhere.

While iam at it, isnt there a filter somewhere?it would be alot easier editing if i can filter out all points recorded with a boat speed above 20kmh for example.

Thank you.

Unfortunately you can't get your track-point data back if you have already closed this workspace or project, although if you haven't you can undo the delete within the same project view. Tracks within a project view are linked to the tracks within the workspace - sometimes it is easier to edit points within a project view showing multiple tracks than it is to edit tracks individually. Unless you have a backup of your workspace database then I am afraid there isn't anything that can be done to restore this data.

As far as the palette is concerned, you are right in that it is not easy to specify specific colours to depths. If you are using AT5 colours, in particular, there is no interpolation between colours as the units can only use fixed colours. In this case, you could try setting up 12 colours (the number of colours in a palette) and then using a fixed depth range in the project of, say, 0-12m. This should (in conjunction with a 1m contour interval) give a distinct colour to every 1m interval between 0-12m, with everything over that being the same colour as the 12m band.

Yeah - sorry. I think perhaps we should put a confirmation window up before a filter operation is applied, as it can be quite destructive.

A "depth display range" for your project sets the upper and lower depths that the palette will use when interpolating colours. Click the "Range" toggle button under "Depth display range" in the Project edit panel, then specify the min and max depths. Anything under/over the specified depths will be rendered in the top/bottom colour of the palette.
