I got a bunch of waypoints for dangerous rocks. The original file is a garmin which I converted to .gpx. When I import the gpx file into garmin homeport the danger symbols are there. When I import them into Reefmaster they change to the default. It is too many to change by hand as it appears you can only edit each waypoint one at a time. I am trying to get them into my hummingbird and their worthless program(Hummingbird PC) is of zero help. Help

Tricky one. One problem with all of these proprietary units and file formats is that there really isn't any sort of standard naming convention for waypoint symbols, so porting them between units isn't easy.
One thing you could possibly try is exporting them all from ReefMaster as a GPX file (target Humminbird). You'll get a text file with entries like the following:

If you know what the name of the waypoint symbol you need is, you could try a simple search and replace within the GPX file. E.g. in the case above, you could search for "<sym>Waypoint</sym>" and replace with "<sym>YOUR_SYMBOL_NAME</sym>" (note that you probably don't want to just search for "waypoint" as you will end up replacing things that aren't part of the symbol name field).

To find the name of the waypoint symbol you need, try opening an HPBC generated waypoint file.

This approach should be a lot quicker than changing symbols one by one.

Got the danger symbol waypoints isolated in garmin software, made a separate gpx file with them, and change through text edit find relplace to what Reefmaster/Hummingbird uses. Worked great and thank you so much for the help. As a side note I noticed the waypoint symbol choices in Reefmaster are pretty basic compared to what others are using including Hummingbird who is way behind the Garmin curve. Thanks again.

Welcome to waypoint icon hell.

I've had Humminbird & Lowrance HDS units. At one point, I created waypoints for each waypoint icon represented on the unit, exported as a GPX file, then created a list matching waypoint icons. Some do not exist across vendors.

As a last resort, I would do as Matt stated and do a Search-and-Replace via text editor.

HumminbirdPC is actually one of the better waypoint management programs. HBPC is weak handling tracks.
HBPC can sort by Name, Icon, Shared, Visible, Latitude or Longitude characteristics.
HBPC can perform multiple waypoint edits.

In your case:
Sort waypoints by ICON or what ever groups your desired waypoints.
Use Shift-Key or Ctrl-Key to select multiple waypoints to edit.
Right-Click in icon-column. Select Change Icon in drop-box, navigate to desired icon, then Left-Click icon to change to new icon.

You do standard Microsoft select/function technique.
In HBPC:
Display your waypoint list.
Sort if you prefer.

Left-click on the first waypoint row to edit(and that single row should be highlighted.
Hold down on the Shift-Key and Left-click on the last waypoint row to edit(multiple waypoint rows should now be highlighted).

Riqht-click one of the selected waypoint rows in the icon column. And a Popup-Box should appear.
Move mouse to the Change Icon, then follow other Popup-Boxes to select the icon symbol you desire.
Left-click that symbol to select and change all selected rows to that icon.

Shift/Left-click will allow you to select multiple concurrent items.
Ctrl/Left-click will allow you to select multiple independent items.
